Risedronate (Actonel) is a bisphosphonate.

Risedronate (Actonel) tablets are ideally taken first thing in the morning, swallowed whole with a glass of water.

Do not have anything for at least 30 minutes after having taken your medicine.

Consult your doctor for exact dosages and take exactly as directed.

If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.

•black or tarry stools
•constant jaw pain, especially burning or cramping
•eye inflammation, pain, or vision change
•low levels of calcium in the blood (may cause symptoms like confusion, severe fatigue or weakness)
•pain or difficulty when swallowing
•skin rash, itching
•stomach pain
•swelling of the lips, face, tongue, or throat

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

•aluminum hydroxide
•antacids
•anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, naproxen, and others
•aspirin
•calcium supplements
•iron supplements
•magnesium supplements
•parathyroid hormone
•teriparatide
•vitamins with minerals

Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

In case of overdose call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed/not breathing, call local emergency services at 911. You can give the the victim a full glass of milk.

Consult your doctor about the correct diet to follow whilst on a course with this medication.

Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had :

Low Blood Calcium
Vitamin D Deficiency
Dental Disease
Kidney Disease
Stomach/Intestinal/Oesophageal Problem(s)
Problems Swallowing

Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose.

Risedronate(Actonel) helps by reducing calcium loss in bones, and increasing bone density in people with Pagets disease.

Consult a pediatrician for the use of Risedronate (Actonel) medicine in children.

Store at room temperature between 68 degrees / 77 degrees F.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to concieve.

If you concieve whilst on a course with Risedronate (Actonel) medication inform your doctor immediately.

If you notice worsening bone pain inform your doctor immediately.
