Chlorzoxazone (Paraflex) is a skeletal muscle relaxant.

Take Chlorzoxazone (Paraflex) exactly as directed.

Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives)

liver damage (yellowing of the skin or eyes, nausea, abdominal pain or discomfort, unusual bleeding or bruising, severe fatigue)

stomach damage (black, bloody, or tarry stools, blood in vomit)

Before taking Chlorzoxazone (Paraflex), make sure that you are not allergic to Paraflex or any other drug.

Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

Sodium oxybate (GHB) because the sedative effects of Chlorzoxazone may be increased

If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding

if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

if you have liver problems or a blood disease called porphyria

Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Chlorzoxazone (Paraflex) is used, along with rest and physical therapy, to treat injuries and other painful muscular conditions.

Chlorzoxazone (Paraflex) may be prescribed for other uses.

Chlorzoxazone (Paraflex) should be stored at room temperature.

It should be kept away from excess heat and moisture.

Do not drink alcohol or use medicines that may cause drowsiness.

Chlorzoxazone (Paraflex) may discolor the urine orange to purple-red. This is normal and not a cause for concern.
