How to use
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. This medication is taken with food.
Contact a pediatrician for the use of this medication in children

Side Effects
If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.
Blood in urine/stools
Diarrhea
Dry mouth/increased thirst
Fever/chills
Sore throat
Irregular heartbeat
Lower back/side pain
Unusual bleeding/bruising
Mood changes
Muscle pain/ weakness/cramps
Nausea
Vomiting
Severe stomach pain
Skin rash
Itching
Tingling/numbness in the hands/feet
Unusual tiredness/weakness
Yellowing of the eyes/skin
Redness/blistering/peeling/loosening of the skin(including inside the mouth)

Drug Interaction
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.
Amantadine
Amphotericin B
Calcium supplements
Colestipol
Diazoxide
Digoxin
Dofetilide
Hormones(cortisone, hydrocortisone, prednisone)
Lithium
Diabetes medication
Medication for high blood pressure/heart disease/control the heart rhythm
Diuretics
Antiinflammatory drugs
Cholestyramine
Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medication for any condition in any form whilst starting a course with this medication.

Over Dose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Notes
Inform your doctor if you suffer from any of the below mentioned :
Diabetes
Gout
Systemic lupus erythematosus
Kidney/Liver Disease
Pancreatitis

Missed Dose
Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose.

Uses
Hydrochlorothiazide helps in treating high blood pressure, it is not a cure.

Storage
Store at room temperature between 15 to 30 degrees C / 59 to 86 degrees F, away from heat and light.

Precaution
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to concieve or are breast feeding.
If you think you have concieved whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.
Inform your health care professional that you are taking hydrochlorothiazide, if you are going in for surgery.
Consult your health care professional about your diet especially your sodiuma and potassium intake.
Avoid alcohol and alcohol containing beverages.
Keep a close watch on your blood sugar levels if you are a diabetic.
