How to use
Avoid alcohol and alcohol containing beverages whilst on a course with this medication.
Take the dosage as prescribed by your health care professional. Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children.

Side Effects
If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.
blistering/redness/peeling or loosening of the skin(including inside the mouth)
change in sex drive/performance
swelling of the face/lips/tongue
change in the amount of urine
feeling faint/light-headed
unusual bleeding/bruising
yellowing of the eyes/skin
fast/irregular heart beat
palpitations/chest pain
persistent dry cough
trouble passing urine
worsened gout pain
breathing problems
muscle cramps
itching/hives
stomach pain
dark urine
headache
skin rash

Drug Interaction
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.
lithium
NSAIDs
rifampin
celecoxib
cimetidine
fluconazole
corticosteroids
medicines for diabetes
blood pressure medicines
prescription pain medicines
potassium salts/supplements
barbiturates(like Phenobarbital)
skeletal muscle relaxants(like tubocurarine)
diuretics(especially triamterene/spironolactone/amiloride)
medication for pain and inflammation(like ibuprofen/naproxen)
few cholesterol-lowering medicines(such as cholestyramine/colestipol)
Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

Over Dose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Notes
Always keep your body hydrated by regular intake of fluids. Taking this medicine in a dehydrated state can prove to be dangerous.
Avoid salt substitutes, unless informed as otherwise by your health care professional.

Missed Dose
Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.

Uses
Hyzaar, a combination of Losartan and Hydrochlorothiazide.
Losartan classified as an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, aids in lowering blood pressure and Hydrochlorothiazide classified as a thiazide diuretic, aids in expelling unrequired water and salt from the body by way of urination.
