Warfarin (Coumadin) tablet is taken by mouth, swallowed whole with a glass of water.

Take Warfarin (Coumadin) exactly as prescribed.

Change in the color of your urine or tarry stools
Diarrhea
Dizziness
Excessive bleeding from cuts, gums while brushing your teeth
Fever
Heavy Vaginal bleeding
Increased Menstrual bleeding
Sores or ulcers on your skin
Unusual Pain/Swelling
Weakness

If you notice any of the symptoms listed above or any other symptoms which seem severe or persistent, contact your health care professional immediately.

Inform your health care professional if you have any allergies to any medication or any other thing and also inform them about any other medication that you might be taking in any other form.

Many medicines interfere with Warfarin (Coumadin) effectiveness. Do not treat yourself with Over the Counter Medication without consulting your doctor, especially any kind of herbal medication.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.

If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Carry with you at all times an ID card mentioning your name, the medicine you are taking, the dosage, the name of the person and your health care professional they should call in case of an emergecy.

If you are going in for surgery inform your health care professional that you are taking Warfarin (Coumadin).

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding, suffering from psychosis, have thyroid, any blood disorders, had any recent surgery, suffer from diabetes or take alcoholic beverages.

The blood test that is used to monitor your blood during Warfarin (Coumadin) therapy is known as the PT or INR, your doctor will keep checking the same to determine if your dosage needs to be changed.

Do not double dose to make up for a missed dose.

If you miss doses for 2 or more days, contact your doctor immediately.

Warfarin (Coumadin) helps in treating and in the prevention of clot formation in the veins, arteries, lungs, or the heart.
