This is a combination medicine. Olmesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker and hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic.

Side Effects
If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.
pinpoint red spots on the skin
confusion
redness/blistering/peeling/loosening of the skin(including inside the mouth)
light-headedness/fainting spells
decreased amount of urine passed
fast/irregular heart beat/palpitations/chest pain
muscle cramps/pain
decreased sexual function
fever/chills
difficulty breathing
stomach pain
unusual tiredness/weakness
yellowing of the eyes/skin
vomiting
swelling of your face/lips/tongue/hands/feet
difficulty swallowing
worsened gout pain
hoarseness/tightening of the throat
unusual rash
dizziness
bleeding/bruising

Drug Interaction
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.
water pills
vitamin A-related creams/pills/supplements
potassium salts/supplements
prochlorperazine
some antibiotics which increase sensitivity to sunlight
drospirenone, ethinyl estradiol
some medicines for mental disorders which increase sensitivity to sunlight
anti-inflammatory drugs
medicines for diabetes
monoamine oxidase inhibitors
griseofulvin
some cholesterol lowering medications
allopurinol
calcium supplements
hawthorn(or horse chestnut)
lithium
dofetilide
blood pressure medications
Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

Over Dose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Notes
If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.
If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.
Consult your health care professional about your diet whilst on a course with this medicine, in any form.
Avoid alcohol and alcohol containing beverages whilst on a course with this medication.
Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had :
pancreatitis
electrolyte imbalance
if you are on a special diet(such as using potassium substitutes)
gout
diabetes mellitus
previous swelling of the tongue/face/lips with difficulty breathing/difficulty
liver disease
recent heart attack/stroke
heart/blood vessel disease
autoimmune disease/suppressed immune function
kidney disease
swallowing/hoarseness/tightening of the throat

Missed Dose
Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose.
Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.

Storage
Store at room temperature between 20-25 degrees, away from heat and moisture.

Precaution
Benicar HCT can cause injury or death to a developing fetus when used after the third month of pregnancy.
