How to use
Contact a pediatrician for use of Acyclovir (Zovirax) in children.
Tablets / Capsules : Take Acyclovir (Zovirax) exactly as prescribed. Swallow whole with a glass of water.
Cream : Wash your hands thoroughly before and after every application. Wash and dry the affected area(s). Gently rub in the cream on the affected area(s) until absorbed. Do not cover with a dressing unless specifically directed to do so by your prescriber.

Hallucinations
Hives
Rash
Seizures
Skin Irritation
Thirst
Tremors
Weakness
Acyclovir (Zovirax) Cream :
Breathing difficulties
Burning or irritation in areas of application
Cracked lips
Flaking or dry skin
Hives
Skin rash
If you notice any of the symptoms listed above or any other symptoms which are severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.

Drug Interaction
Inform your health care professional if you are allergic to the formulation of this medicine or any other medicine in any other form.
Aids medication
Fosphenytoin
HIV medication
Phenytoin
Probenecid
Also, inform your prescriber if you are taking any medication whilst starting a course with this medication.

Over Dose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Notes
Inform your prescriber if you suffer from:
Any Kidney Diseases
Dehydration
Neurological Disorders or Seizures
Trying to get pregnant
If cream gets in your eyes, wash out with cool tap water.

Missed Dose
Tablets / Capsules : Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose.
Cream : Do not double applications to make up for the misses application.

Treating chickenpox or herpes zoster and treating/suppressing genital herpes infections.

Storage
Tablets / Capsules : Store at room temperature between 15- 25°C.
Cream : Store at room temperature between 15-25 degrees C.

Precaution
Drink lots of fluids.
If your symptoms do not improve in a weeks time, consult your prescriber.
Avoid sexual contact whilst being treated for the same.
Inform your doctor if you are breast feeding or pregnant, or if you are allergic to Acyclovir (Zovirax) or any of its ingredients.
