Drowsiness
Difficulty breathing
Skin rash
Swelling of the face and lips

Tell your prescriber or health care professional about all other medicines you are taking, including non-prescription medicines, nutritional supplements, or herbal products.

levothyroxine
omeprazole
other thyroid hormones
phenytoin
ranitidine
theophylline

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding

if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

if you have kidney problems or are on dialysis, or have blockage of the intestines or difficulty swallowing

Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Sucralfate (Carafate) is used to treat ulcers. It adheres to damaged ulcer tissue and protects against acid and enzymes so healing can occur.

Sucralfate (Carafate) is also used to protect the stomach lining when taking aspirin and for mouth sores that occur with cancer chemotherapy.

Sucralfate (Carafate) is sometimes prescribed for other gastrointestinal problems like acid-reflux, esophagitis, or mouth ulceration.

Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C / 59 and 86 degrees F.
