Mesalamine(Asacol) is an anti inflammatory agent.

Swallow Mesalamine(Asacol) whole with a glass of water.

Take exactly as directed.

If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.

Blood in Urine
Bloody Vomit
Chest Pain
Confusion
Ear Ache
Heartburn
Haemorrhoids
Shortness of Breath
Swelling of any part of the body
Tarry stools
Urinating more/less than usual

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

Any other medicine for treating ulcerative colitis
Digoxin
NSAIDs

Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Consult a pediatrician for the use of this medicine in children.

Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose.

Mesalamine(Asacol) is used in the treatment of Crohns disease and Mesalamine(Asacol) also helps in reducing the inflammation caused by ulcerative colitis.

Store at room temperature between 15-30 degrees C, away from heat and moisture.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to concieve.

If you concieve whilst on a course with Mesalamine(Asacol), inform your doctor immediately.

Liver Disease
Pancreatitis
Pericarditis
Pyloric Stenosis
