Ketotifen opthalmic solution works by blocking the release of chemicals from cells involved in allergic reactions.

Ketotifen opthalmic solution is usually applied to the affected eye(s) two times daily and usually 8 to 12 hours apart.

Wipe off any excess liquid from your cheek with a clean tissue. Wash your hands again.

dry eyes
eye discharge/pain
eyelid problems
flu like symptoms
headache
itching
problem with tear production
rash
runny nose
sensitivity to light
sore throat

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Do not use Ketotifen opthalmic solution for future eye problems without consulting with your health care professional.
Ketotifen opthalmic solution should not be used in children younger than 3 years old.

Inform your health care professional and/or pharmacist if you are allergic to ketotifen or any other medications.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.

Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.

Ketotifen opthalmic solution is used for temporary prevention of itching of the eye due to allergies.

Store in a cool dry place away from heat and light

Ketotifen opthalmic solution contains benzalkonium chloride, which can be absorbed by soft contact lenses. Remove your contact lenses before applying Ketotifen opthalmic solution and put them back in 10 minutes later. Consult your health care professional for more information.

Ketotifen opthalmic solution may cause mild stinging when you first put it in your eye. Contact your health care professional if the stinging is persistent.
