Brimonidine (Alphagan) is an antiglaucoma agent (ophthalmic).

Wash hands before and after use.

Use Brimonidine (Alphagan) exactly as directed by your health care professional.

Stop using Brimonidine (Alphagan) if your eyes get inflamed, painful, or have a discharge and consult your health care professional.

Side effects that you should report to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible, inflamed or infected eyes or eyelids;
bleeding in your eye, or any other symptoms which seem severe or persistent.

When you are using Brimonidine (Alphagan), it is especially important that your health care professional know if you are taking any of the following:

Monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor activity
phenelzine
procarbazine
selegiline
tranylcypromine

Brimonidine (Alphagan) should not be taken while you are taking or within two weeks of taking MAO inhibitors.

Contact 1-800-222-1222 your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Do not use eye cups.

Wear dark glasses, as this medicine makes your eyes more sensitive to light.

Consult your doctor if you wear contact lenses.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

Do not use double or extra doses to make up for a missed dose.

Brimonidine (Alphagan) helps to reduce pressure in the eye for patients with increased pressure or open-angle glaucoma.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more infromation.

Store at room temperature less than 77 degrees F / 25 degrees C.

Inform your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially:

Heart or blood vessel disease
Kidney disease
Liver disease
Low blood pressure
Mental depression
