How to use
Take Ovral L exactly as it was prescribed for you.
If you need to have any type of medical tests or surgery, or if you will be on bed rest, you may need to stop using this medication for a short time. Any doctor or surgeon who treats you should know that you are using birth control pills.
Sideeffects
Severe side effects are relatively rare in women who are healthy and do not smoke while they are taking oral contraceptives.
The following symptoms or side effects may be related to blood clots and require immediate medical or emergency help:
weakness or numbness in the arms or legs, especially on one side of the body
vision or speech problems
swelling of the hands, feet or ankles, or rapid weight gain
sudden shortness of breath
sudden loss of coordination, especially on one side of the body
stomach pain (severe)
severe or sudden headaches
leg, arm or groin pain
dizziness or fainting spells
coughing up blood
chest pain
Contact your health care provider as soon as you can.
Interaction
Tell your prescriber or health care professional about all other medicines you are taking, including non-prescription medicines, nutritional supplements, or herbal products.

A complete personal and family medical history and physical examination, including blood pressure, should be taken prior to the initiation of COC use.
Such medical examinations should be repeated periodically during the use of COCs.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Ovral L contraceptive, or vomit the dose within an hour of taking it, you MUST contact your health care professional for instructions.

Before using Ovral L , tell your doctor if you have:
