Eflornithine cream is used on the skin to help reduce unwanted facial hair in women.

Eflornithine cream is not recommended for use in men.

Eflornithine cream may not work for everyone. Please consult your health care professional before starting on a course with this medication.

Wash your hands before and after use. Do not take by mouth.

Follow dosage and apply as directed by your health care professional.

Rub the cream in thoroughly and do not wash the treatment area for at least 4 hours after application.

If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.

acne
reddened swollen patches of skin that contain a buried hair
redness of the skin/skin rash
severe skin irritation
stinging/burning/tingling of the skin

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

If you are using any other skin products/preparations on the affected area, inform/consult your doctor or health care professional before starting on a course with this medication.

Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.


If you need to use any other products such as sunscreen or cosmetics, wait a few minutes after applying this cream. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Do not treat yourself with OTC medication whilst on a course with this medication, without consulting with your health care professional.

Use of eflornithine cream has not been approved for children younger than 12 years of age.

Do not double applications to make up for a missed application. Consult your health care professional about your missed application.

Eflornithine cream is for external use only.

Eflornithine cream does not remove unwanted facial hair permanently.

Store at room temperature, away from heat and moisture.

If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.

If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.
