Terbinafine (Lamisil) is an antifungal.

Wash hands thoroughly before and after each application of Terbinafine (Lamisil).

Tablet: Take exactly as directed. Taken once a day for 6 weeks for fingernail fungus and once a day for 12 weeks for toenail fungus.

Cream: Cover the affected areas with cream, and do not cover with any kind of dressing unless directed by your doctor to do so.

Terbinafine (Lamisil) may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

Changes / Loss of taste
Dark urine
Diarrhea
Fever
Hives
Itching
Loss of appetite
Nausea
Pain in the right upper part of the stomach
Pale stools
Rash
Severe rash(that keeps getting worse)
Sore throat & other signs of infection
Stomach pain
Vomiting

Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems while taking this medication.

Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

Cimetidine because it may increase the risk of Terbinafine (Lamisil)'s side effects

Rifampin because it may decrease Terbinafine (Lamisil)'s effectiveness

Antiarrhythmics (eg, flecainide, propafenone), beta-blockers (eg, metoprolol), monoamine oxidase type B (MAO-B) inhibitors (eg, selegiline), selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) (eg, fluoxetine), or tricyclic antidepressants (eg, amitriptyline) because the risk of their side effects may be increased by Terbinafine (Lamisil)

Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin) because their effectiveness may be decreased or the risk of their side effects may be increased by Terbinafine (Lamisil)

This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask your health care provider if Terbinafine (Lamisil) may interact with other medicines that you take.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding

if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

if you have a history of kidney problems, lupus, psoriasis, or alcohol abuse or dependence

if you have a weakened immune system

Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Terbinafine (Lamisil) works by stopping the growth of sensitive fungi.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture.

Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to Terbinafine (Lamisil) or any other medications.

Tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking.
