How to use
Moxifloxacin (Avelox) medicine maybe taken with or without food, and is to be swallowed whole with a glass of water.
Consult your doctor and take exactly as directed.
Consult a paediatrician for the use of this medicine in children.

Sideeffects
If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.
•confusion
•difficulty breathing
•irregular heartbeat, palpitations or chest pain
•joint, muscle or tendon pain
•seizures
•severe or watery diarrhea
•skin rash, itching
•swelling of the face or neck
•tingling in hands or feet
•tremor or restlessness
•unusual tiredness or weakness
•vision problems
•vomiting

Interaction
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.
•aluminum salts
•antacids
•arsenic trioxide
•astemizole
•bepridil
•certain heart medications for irregular rhythm (e.g., amiodarone, disopyramide, dofetilide, flecainide, ibutilide, quinidine, procainamide, sotalol)
•certain medications for depression or other mental problems (e.g., tricyclic antidepressants, amoxapine, maprotiline, phenothiazines, haloperidol, pimozide, risperidone, sertindole, and ziprasidone)
•cisapride
•clarithromycin
•cyclobenzaprine
•cyclosporine
•didanosine (ddI)
•diuretics (water pills) such as furosemide or hydrochlorothiazide which can cause low potassium levels
•dolasetron
•doxercalciferol
•droperidol
•erythromycin
•iron (ferrous sulfate) preparations
•levomethadyl
•magnesium salicylate
•magnesium salts
•manganese
•medicines for diabetes
•multivitamins that contain iron, magnesium, manganese, or zinc
•NSAIDs such as Advil®, Aleve®, ibuprofen, Motrin®, naproxen
•pentamidine
•probucol
•quinapril
•retinoid products such as tretinoin (Retin-A®, Renova®) or isotretinoin (Accutan®)
•sevelamer
•sucralfate
•terfenadine
•troleandomycin
•warfarin
•zinc salts
•ziprasidone
Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

Overdose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Notes
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.
If you conceive whilst on a course with Moxifloxacin (Avelox) inform your doctor immediately.
Keep out of the sun/wear protective clothing.
If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking Moxifloxacin (Avelox).

Missed Dose
Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose.

Moxifloxacin (Avelox) works by stopping/killing certain infection causing bacterial growths.

Storage
Store at room temperature away from heat and moisture.

Precautions
Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had :
Stroke
Diabetes
Seizures
Tendon/Joint pain
Heart/Liver Disease
Other chronic conditions
Long exposure to sunlight
Severe Cerebral Arteriosclerosis
Colitis or other stomach disorders
If you are diabetic, monitor your blood glucose levels closely.
