Ropinirole (Requip) is a dopamine agonist.

Ropinirole (Requip) comes as a tablet to take by mouth, maybe taken with or without food.

Take Ropinirole (Requip) exactly as directed.

Although side effects from Ropinirole (Requip) are not common, they can occur. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

changes in vision
chest pain
cold or flu-like symptoms
constipation
decreased sexual ability
dizziness
drowsiness
dry mouth
excessive tiredness
fainting
falling asleep while eating, having a conversation, or in the middle of another activity
frequent urination
hallucinations
headache
heartburn
high temperature, rigid muscles, confusion
increased sweating
involuntary movements
irregular heartbeat
swelling of the feet, ankles, or lower legs
upset stomach
vomiting

Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

Quinolones
Anticoagulants
Benzodiazepines
Butyrophenones

if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

if you are allergic to any ingredient in Ropinirole (Requip)

IF OVERDOSE IS SUSPECTED, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding

if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

if you have liver or kidney disease, severe heart disease, or a sleep disorder

if you smoke or have a personal or family history of addiction (such as gambling, alcohol)

Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Ropinirole (Requip) is used to treat the symptoms of Parkinsons disease, including tremors (shaking), stiffness, and slowness of movement.

Ropinirole (Requip) controls the symptoms of Parkinsons disease but does not cure it.

Ropinirole (Requip) may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture.

Do not drink alcohol or use medicines that may cause drowsiness.

Contact your doctor if you experience new or worsening symptoms.
