If overdose is suspected, you need to call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim is unconscious or not breathing, you need to call local emergency services at 911.

Keep all appointments with your doctor.

Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Citalopram (Celexa) is used to treat mental depression.

Citalopram (Celexa) medication is not meant for children below 18 years. If your doctor prescribes this for a younger child please watch for serious symptoms they may develop very suddenly, such as worsening depression; thinking about harming or killing oneself, agitation, panic attacks, difficulty falling asleep, irritability; aggressive behavior, severe restlessness, frenzied excitement.

Keep a watch for sudden behavioural changes or worsening of depression and inform your health care professional immediately.
