Astelin (Azelastine) medication is for use in your nose as directed, usually twice a day in both nostrils.

Side Effects
A very serious allergic reaction to Astelin (Azelastine) is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if you notice symptoms of a serious allergic reaction which may include:
itching
rash
swelling
trouble breathing
severe dizziness

Drug Interaction
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you also take any of the drugs mentioned below:
other antihistamines
anti-anxiety drugs
anti-seizure drugs
medicine for sleep
muscle relaxants
narcotic pain relievers
psychiatric medicines
tranquilizers

Over Dose
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediatelyor the national poison hotline at 1-800-222-1222.

Notes
If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.
If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Uses
Astelin (Azelastine ) works by blocking certain natural substances called histamines that are responsible for allergic symptoms.
Astelin (Azelastine) is used to relieve nasal symptoms such as runny/itching/stuffy nose, sneezing, and post-nasal drip caused by seasonal allergies & other conditions.

Protect from freezing.
Store at controlled room temperature between 68-77 degrees F / 20-25 degrees C away from light and moisture.

Precaution
Before taking Astelin (Azelastine) tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history :
especially kidney problems
if you are allergic to it or to the preservative benzalkonium chloride
if you have any other allergies
